THE CHALLENGE

A few months ago, we launched the Wooting Developer Portal that gave everyone access to our open source Analog SDK and RGB SDKs. While we continue to see a few people constantly working on their projects, we thought “Hey, we want to see more!”

What better way to do that if not with a contest? Have a project you started making but lost interest? Have an idea in the back of your mind but didn’t have a reason to make it yet? We’re here to fix that.

The idea behind the Wooting CODE IT contest is very simple. We want to motivate you, the hobbyist developer, the pro-coder, the keyboard enthusiast, to make something awesome with our Analog SDK or RGB SDK. That’s why we challenge you to create said awesome things.

COMPETITION INFORMATION

To take part in the contest, all you have to do is to make something that connects the Analog SDK or the RGB SDK with something else. We felt like connecting the analog functionality with existing programs or apps makes the most sense, as it expands the field of things the keyboard works with. Below you’ll find a couple ideas to get your gears going.

Since the objective of this contest is to create and share things that others might also find use in, we also wanted for any creations to be something that other people could theoretically use as well so keep that in mind while creating!

You can submit your project until 22.10.2018. After the contest period, there will be a 2 week grace period to allow for voting of the community choice. The winners will be decided in the following way:

  • Community choice, one winner is decided by the community through voting

  • Wooting pick, one winner is decided by us, the overlords at Wooting >:)

  • Honourable mention, one runner up picked by us with whatever criteria we decide 🙂

We will announce the winners during the livestream of the 9th of November.

SO WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

All participants that we consider valid will get a Steam-key for the game Fugl, and will be added to the spotlight section on the developer portal for at least the next 56 years.
